The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club Breed Open Show 31st August 2024
It is always an honour and privilege to be invited to judge and I was truly humbled by the entry for The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club – a huge thank you to all exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs, also for their sporting and supportive attitude. The committee’s efforts have to be commended - the ring looked great, rosettes were beautiful and the show specials looked fantastic. I was made most welcome and a special thank you must go to Gillian and Wayne for stewarding. On to the exhibits, there was variation in type as always. I was looking for staffords that had a blend of bull and terrier who I perceived could be functional and fit for life within the breed standard. There is no doubt there is exaggeration, muzzles a tad short, nares that are not as open as is ideal but numbers were few today and as a breed we are aware and this should considered when forward planning matings. There were some mouth faults beyond an untidy mouth. We should be mindful that the standard asks for a prefect, regular and complete scissor bite. We have staffords and damaged teeth are not uncommon, I look for virtues and judge the whole dog on that given day. Competition was tough and on other occasions no doubt placings will change. On the day the bitches had the edge over the dogs. BIS Hammystaff Hot Love (Now Champion) and RBIS CH Delacour Sweetest Taboo both thought they owned the ring, they are “het up”, raring to go, filling their skin, move as though they mean business, with drive from the rear; while showing the odd curl of the lip and a bit of side eye. If you know you know. They are a joy to watch, they are well handled but they make their handlers work to keep them just at a simmer. Some staffords seemed too well schooled and lacked enthusiasm and spark, I was willing some of them on to give a bit more.
Veteran Bitch (11,3A) For me this is always the hardest class to judge - those in their twilight years who have given so much to their owners and still giving their best.
1 st D Meer Metzlar’s CH/NL CH, CH SE CH FRISIAN STAFFS IT’S A GIFT Bl Br. Just beginning to grey at just over 7, still in excellent condition with a good tuck up. This is a bitch with no exaggeration, she has depth to her skull and a distinct stop. She has a dark round eye, rose ears which she uses well and wide-open nares. She presents a balanced picture, classic expression with enough behind the collar to match her head, good spring of rib and depth of brisket. She is well off for bone, short coupled, good shoulder angulation, no weakness at the pastern and tight, well-padded feet. She moved out well fore and aft holding a level topline. I understand why she holds multiple titles. Best Veteran.
2 ND Robinson, Robinson Cox’s STUDSTAFF SUGAR AND SPICE OF HAMASON JW SHCM R&W this bitch often has me cheering and clapping she is a fantastic ambassador for the breed. 9 years old and still in excellent condition – her backend is still muscular. Much of the comments of 1st apply to this bitch. She has a good length of muzzle, cracking pigmentation which extends to her eye rims and gums. Her coat texture is correct and it’s short. Moved out with reach and drive with animation and a wagging tail.
3 RD Funnell’s POWERPACK CHEROKEE JW BlBr. Another 9 year old and in good condition. This affix has continually brought out unexaggerated staffords. This is a smart Stafford at any age, has a smidge of femininity but she retains strength. She has the neatest of ears which enhances her expression. A well-balanced Stafford that looks like a Stafford, she moved out well and isn’t aware that she is a veteran.

Minor Puppy Bitch (9,1) A lovely class of promising puppies.
1 ST Thomas’ BIGGLESWICK MIND YOUR BACK R&Wh This youngster has an air of quiet confidence about her, she moved well, holding a level topline and was unphased. She has a lovely expression, enhanced by rose ears, her dark, round eye draws you in. She has strength to her muzzle, open nares and has plenty of underjaw. Everything is as it should be at 7 months old and she is in good puppy condition. She has spring of rib, forechest, adequate depth of brisket and is short enough coupled. I will watch her with interest, she really appealed to me. Best Puppy Bitch & Best Opposite Sex Puppy.
2 ND Harkin & Jones’KAMARISTAFF ROYAL DUCHESS Bl Br Just old enough to be shown and rightly so still learning. She presents a pretty picture freestanding but staying still is a challenge and that’s OK. She is a neat package, clean head, with a lovely expression, her mouth houses nice big teeth. She has a shapely body. Feet will improve with roadwork. She moved out well with nothing out of place.
3 RD Bowman’s SIKAISTAFF LIL MONSTER AT KAMIFLO Bl Br Petite bitch with plenty time to grow on. A lot of positive attributes. Strength to her head, well-proportioned and clean. Lovely tight feet, good depth to chest and evidence of spring of rib. Showing rear muscular development.

PUPPY BITCH (6,0) A very competitive class, places will change many times.
1 ST Taylor & Coombes FREDBUR GOGO YUBARI AT NIATONA Br & Wh Flashy. This bitch looks through you with her dark, round eyes and she is confident enough that her rose ears are always up. She has strength to her skull, muzzle and underjaw. This is a compact, well put together bitch with lots to like. She has a good rapport with her handler who is letting her charge do her bit and stride out, showing herself off. She is a shapely bitch whose bodily attributes seem ahead of her age. She has a bit of width to her front, stands on well boned legs, with no weakness at the pastern. She has depth of chest, visible spring of rib and her underline ends in a good tuck up. She has a good bend of stifle and her hams are developing nicely.
2 ND Jones’ KAMARISTAFFS ROYAL LEGACY BL Br Another youngster learning her trade. A bit more of her than 1st but another with plenty of virtue. Cleanest of heads, good muzzle to skull ratio, plenty of underjaw, distinct stop, dark round eye, thin rose ear. Her neck flows gradually to her shoulders and she has a bit of width to her front, she has no weakness at the pastern. There is depth to her brisket, she has a bit of spring of rib and is short enough coupled. She made her handler work throughout the class, she showed good bend of stifle and nothing was out of place on the move.
3 RD Heron’s DILIRYSTAFF FANGTASTIC Br & W Smaller bitch, compact and well within standard. Has good width to chest and visible forechest. She has strength but is feminine. She has depth to her head but not overly done, strong underjaw. She moved out well for her handler front and rear, showing off her correct tail carriage. Shown in good coat condition and physical condition.

JUNIOR BITCH (5,0) The youngsters present really had me thinking that we have a positive future ahead.
1 ST Hammond’s HAMMYSTAFF HOT LOVE R&W My notes say wow a cracker. This is an example of why we physically go over staffords and not rely on the eye alone. Markings can be deceiving. This girl exudes strength but you still know she is a bitch, there is a lot of Stafford and heart in this package. Her head is of good proportions, is clean round the muzzle, has tight lips that aren’t fleshy and she has a strong underjaw. It’s nice to see sizable premolars and large molars all present. She has a round eye that’s dark enough and her expression is set off by rose ears, she is alert as they come. She has width to her front, round bone and has substance. She has forechest, depth of brisket and spring of rib, she is short enough in the couplings but not too short to affect her flexibility. She has a well-developed rear and adequate bend of stifle, good padding on her feet. She has front extension and drives from the rear. When it came to the bitch challenge she smiled at me and cheek bumps won the day. This bitch needs to be gone over to be appreciated – a worthy champion with many miles and years left in her - what a gift. Best Bitch and Best in Show.
2 ND D Meer Metzlar’s FRISIAN STAFF’S QUEEN OF CALIFORNIA Bl Br This bitch was also in cracking condition, her muscles were defined and her coat gleaming. She was a pretty puppy, now she is a serious contender. My notes say cracking head, oozes breed type, plenty underjaw – could mean business. Her body proportions marry well with her head, she is well balanced and shapely, she has spring of rib. Many today I felt didn’t have enough rib to house the engine that drives the machine. She moved out with confidence, going places with front reach but perhaps a tiny overreach on the rear, she had hams to be proud of. Will watch her progress with interest.
3 RD Liggins & Curd ELLCHANSA UNDER YOUR SPELL AT KNOCKON Bl Br This bitch has presence and looks at you with confidence. When I smile at a Stafford I want to see it’s eyes light up, this bitch did exactly that. She is an attractive bitch that will catch many an eye. Well proportioned head, I wouldn’t want any less muzzle. She is shapely with a good tuck up, and depth of brisket, moved out well with her handler.

YEARLING BITCH (13,0) This was a hotly contested class and places will change on many an occasion.
1 ST Constant’s SIKAISTAFF CASK STRENGTH JW Bl Br & Wh. A bitch well within the standard for size. She won this class on overall balance, width of front and her attitude on the move, her handler brought out her best. At this stage she isn’t fully mature but plenty to appreciate especially her expression which is enhanced by her rose ears which she holds up with confidence. She has width to her front, you can get your hands in and feel the depth of brisket. She has no weakness at the pastern and tight feet. Plenty behind her collar and very shapely rear, with well-developed hams.
2 ND Johnson’s TILLCARR DESIRE FOR FIRE Bl Br On my first walk around this bitch didn’t catch my eye but hands on I realised she isn’t flashy but has plenty of virtue. She had a stronger head than one, dark round eye and an impressive underjaw, her canines were well angled. She has more daylight under her than first but is well proportioned. Moved true on tight feet with a decent bend of stifle holding her topline.
3 RD Gallagher’s ALSHACORN SAYS WHO JW Br & Wh This bitch is always handled to advantage but I would have liked more animation – she was super relaxed- but she has a long road to get here. Her head is her fortune, sporting strong cheek bumps and a strong underjaw, she has a dark round eye and her rose ears are used well to enhance expression. She has similar body proportions to 2nd and moved out well.

MAIDEN BITCH (3,1)
1 ST Greaves’ DELACOUR AMAZING GRACE R & Wh This puppy ended up in junior class with the big girls but was giving away too much in maturity but still won a respectable Res. She has a very similar bodily attributes as her big sis RBIS, so I will be watching this one with interest. She has a lovely head, distinct stop and cheek bumps developing nicely. She has a lovely dark round eye. She excels in the muzzle area, no fleshiness and a cracking underjaw. She has a lovely dark eye rim, good pigmentation and a bit of a black mask. She moved true front and rear holding her topline level.
2 ND Barr’s SPARKSTAFF THE INTERCEPTOR Wh & Br This is a very pretty, eye catching puppy. Lovely clean head of good proportions, plenty of underjaw, dark round eye and excellent pigmentation. She is up on the leg but her body has to fill out and catch up, she looks as she should for her age. She impressed me on the move with drive from the rear.
NOVICE BITCH (7,3)
1 ST Greaves’ DELACOUR MISS ATTITUDE Br & Wh very flashy. Litter sister to 1st maiden bitch, very similar in body but has a rounder head with better developed cheek bumps and even more underjaw. She paints a very pretty picture with her dark round eye and is a lovely shade of brindle. She moved out really well, holding a level topline. She had it a bit more together than 2nd at this point.
2 ND Jones’ KAMARISTAFFS ROYAL LEGACY See Puppy bitch. In this her second class she decided that maybe she could give her handler a break and stand still for a little longer.
3 RD Turner’s MATRIXSTAFF MOON DANCER AT TIDESTAFF Bl Br & Wh This bitch was loving the show ring and making her handler work. She was much more mature than 1st and 2nd due to age but is a stronger type of bitch with plenty of substance. Her strength of head is matched by her body and she was shown in good muscular condition.
RES Batten’s TRAWDEN SUMMER BREEZE
POST GRAD BITCH (10,0)
1 ST Parry’s BERRYSTOCK HEART AND SOUL Bl Br & Wh A strong bitch but you can still tell she is a bitch. In excellent muscular condition and again has a bit of covering, coat was shining. Good head proportions, distinct stop, plenty of cheek bump and underjaw on this one. Dark round eye, her expression was enhanced by a rose ear which she used well. Width to her front, no weakness at pastern and tight feet. Enough rib, plenty of tuck up and a thumping back end with width to the hams. Moved well for her handler with nothing out of place.
2 ND Manghan’s NORTHSTAFF THUNDERSTRUCK AT DURHAMSTAFF Bl Br & Wh Well-handled and pushed the 1st to the end. Again width to her front with much of the same body and head attributes as 1st, a touch less muzzle length. She is short coupled, held her topline well enough on the move, she has a well bent stifle just needed a bit more on the hams to finish the picture but that said was shown in very good condition.
3 RD Bainborough’s VADELZIA BOX OF TRIX Bl Br Splitting hairs in this class for placings, a trio of bitches with plenty to like. Another in excellent condition has a bit more rise to skull. She has a shapely body with a good depth of brisket, she has the tightest of feet which show the effort put into her.

LIMIT BITCH (10, 3)
1 ST Rogers’ BERRYSTOCK BEST KEPT SECRET Bl Br I gave this bitch RBIS one year and a week prior to this show so I was delighted to get my hands on her again. The same applies now as then but she has maturity. Her head is clean, her cheek bumps have developed no exaggeration, good width and depth to underjaw, neatest of rose ears. She has a shapely body, enough substance, straight legs with a slight turn out of feet at the pastern (seems to be seen less). She is close coupled has width to her front, well sprung ribs and depth to her brisket. She moves with drive and purpose, she still looks like she is going places. In excellent condition, she is a standard sized package that exudes confidence.
2 ND Cartwright’s ELITEBULL SKYFALL JW Bl Br This is a strong bitch but not as strong as I thought, she has a head of good proportions with clean lips, strong underjaw, her expression is enhanced by her rose ears. She is well off for bone, a bit of width to her front, no weakness at pastern and has tight feet. She has a good spring of rib and her body is shapely presenting a nice outline. Shown in good condition, coat was shining, short and close. Well-handled to advantage. She drives from the rear, has well bent stifles and well-developed hams.
3 RD Desmond’s ELITEBULL CONQUEST Bl Br Slightly stronger than 2nd but much of the same comments apply. Her coat was absolutely gleaming. Moved well with nothing out of place showing her muscular condition.

OPEN BITCH (5,2)
1 ST Shipp’s CH DELACOUR SWEETEST TABOO FOR IDYLLICSTAFF JW Wh & Br Driven by rocket fuel. Never a dull moment when this girl is about. A Stafford all day long and she knows it. So much to like about her. Her markings you couldn’t ask for better or for them to be any more attractive but colour doesn’t make a good un. She has a head of classic proportions a blend of bull and terrier. Distinct stop, round, dark eyes, strength to her muzzle, plenty of underjaw and full set of premolars and molars. There is nothing that looks out of place on her, everything is in proportion. She is well off for bone, stands on strong legs with no weakness at the pastern and nails are short. She has width to her chest, visible forechest, a good layback of shoulder and muscular neck. She exudes strength, has a good spring of rib, depth of brisket and a gradual rise in her underline. She has a good tuck up. I love that she has a covering and is in solid muscular condition, she isn’t lean. She has a thumping back end and absolutely drives from the rear. Her coat is short and has the correct texture, just has that prickle when you brush the opposite way. Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve Best In Show. This bitch has a lot of mileage in her yet, good luck.
2 ND Turner’s ON THE HILL TWO AT TIDESTAFF Br & Wh A Stafford all day long, lovely shade of brindle, plenty of breed type, some might say old fashioned, I wouldn’t. Head of classic proportions, dark round eyes, evident cheek bumps, plenty around the muzzle, tight lipped and clean, cracking underjaw. Her expression is enhanced by a rose ear which is thin. Good width to her front which is straight and shows no weakness at the pastern. This bitch is in solid condition but as she has long muscles nothing is bunchy. She has depth of brisket, spring of rib, is short enough coupled, has a decent bend to stifle and holds her topline on the move, I would have liked a bit more width on rear movement. I did go home and look at this one’s pedigree I wasn’t surprised.
3 RD Davis & Booth’s CH SHARMARA PATRONUS CHARM Br & Wh Beautiful mahogany brindle and white. A very eye-catching bitch but she didn’t seem herself, she wasn’t happy, the joy of hormones or a summer of campaigning? She paints a very pretty picture, bit more depth to head than 1st and 2nd but it’s clean, she has a dark round eye, strength to her muzzle and a strong underjaw. She has width to her front, forechest, depth of brisket and spring of rib. She is short coupled and holds her topline on the move. I totally understand why she is a Champion thanks for bringing her.
VETERAN DOG (3,1)
1 ST Lewis’ CH BIGGLESWICK SPLASH OF GINGE R & Wh 9 years old and a brilliant example of the condition a veteran can be kept in, this lad looks like he has a good few miles left in him. He is a strong dog with substance, well boned. Everything about him exudes strength and masculinity – he has a head that matches his shapely body, he stands firm, has super feet, that are tight and are well padded. His pigmentation is excellent. He has considerable virtue and his ring presence is something to admire. He moved with drive and nothing was out of place. He knows he is a Champion all day long. Best Opposite Sex Veteran.
2 ND Sloka’s ALPORT HALO MAN Br & Wh 11 year old gent and beginning to show his age which is understandable given how unwell he had been so it was an absolute privilege to be part of this fella’s day out. He is topsize with a classic clean head of good proportions that is typical of this affix. He has a dark round eye, and his expression is enhanced by his neat rose ears. He has a straight front, stands on well boned legs with no weakness at the pastern – he has tight feet. His backend is less defined due to age but he moved well enough on his terms and at his speed.
MINOR PUPPY DOG (3,0)
1 ST Harte’s BIGGLESWICK DEVILS DREAM R & W At 7 months old this puppy shows a lot of promise. He is the richest of reds with a white chest and toes - so eye catching. His head and expression are super appealing. Of course, he has to grow into himself with a little puppy wrinkle here and there but he isn’t fleshy. His head is well proportioned, he has a distinct stop and plenty round the muzzle, he has open nostrils and plenty of underjaw. He is well off for bone and substance, has a bit of width to front, stands on strong legs with no weakness at pastern and has tight, very well-padded feet with the required slight turn out. He has enough rib and depth of brisket for his age, well bent stifle and held his topline level on the move. His tail when not wagging was carried low. He couldn’t be denied Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy beating his litter sister on this occasion.
2 ND Duffield & Mansell-Duffield’s SHARMARA LACRNUM INFLAMARI R & Wh Another promising puppy. He has a bit more roundness to his head than first and his cheekbumps are at this point more defined. He has a slightly higher ear set than 1st, they are rose and thin but his skull will expand and this will change the set. All looks as it should at this stage, he was shown to advantage, moving well front and rear, wagging his tail with confidence.
3 RD Funnell’s JACK IN THE BOX Bl Br Just old enough to make the show ring and he was the baby of the class learning new skills. A promising puppy good head proportions, dark round eye, he kept his ears back as he wasn’t quite sure what was going on but he stood well and moved maintaining a level topline. Look forward to seeing him in a few months.
PUPPY DOG (3,0) Another trio of promising puppies
1 ST Moult’s KAMARISTAFF ROYAL LEGEND Bl Br Good head shape, distinct stop, good length of muzzle, (which is clean) to skull ratio, dark round eye. Cracking underjaw, good bite with big teeth. He is well off for bone and is nicely proportioned; he is a shapely pup with lots to come. He is in the correct condition for a puppy, very good coat texture. Moved positively for one so young with a touch more width in rear movement than 2nd .
2 ND Robinson, Robinson-Cox’s HAMASON WEET LITTLE MYSTERY Br & Wh An impressive youngster, topsize but balanced. His brindle is a stunning shade and he has excellent pigmentation, his markings don’t deceive, he has more depth to skull than first, his head is well proportioned and he has open nares. Plenty of underjaw on this one. He has width to his front, well boned legs and shows no weakness at the pastern, he also has the desired turn out of feet. He has a shapely body and has spring of rib, shown in fit condition.
3 RD Cushley’s BULLBROTHERS MONTECRISTO R & Wh Flashy lad with white on his head, chest and feet. Much of what I have said about first two applies here apart from he has a bit more lip and slightly less fill under the eye at this stage. He was shown in very good condition. A puppy that has time on his side to develop.
JUNIOR DOG (5,0)
1 ST Moorcroft’s ELLCHANSHA CHARM THE DEVIL AT MOORSTAR Bl Br & Wh I liked the head proportions of this youngster and muzzle length. When he smiles you see well developed cheek bumps, he is quite a character. His expression is enhanced by neat, thin rose ears and round dark eyes. He has a strong head piece but his chest is wider and you can get your hands between his forelegs to feel his depth of chest. He stands on strong legs and on very tight, padded feet, I felt at times his feet were placed toes in. Behind his collar matches the strength in front of it. He has a good depth of brisket and a decent spring of rib. He has well developed thighs and a good bend of stifle. He is well handled and is shown to advantage, his tail was up and down as he considered what he thought of his peers.
2 ND Jamieson-Bramley’s TYNEVIEW ETNA NERO Br & Wh It is heartening to see a variety of colours today and if we had more of this shade of brindle it would be awesome. This is a different style of dog to 1st but I really appreciated him. Super alert, topsize, clean head with no extra flesh, he has a dark round eye and rose ears. He has length to his muzzle but not too long and massive teeth. His body is athletic, he held his topline on the move and moved with reach and drive. I went home and looked at the catalogue to find he was litter brother to best dog, this one is definitely his father’s son.
3 RD Deen’s ELLCHANSA THE DEVIL IN ME AT TONDOO Bl Br I didn’t realise at the time but this is the litter brother to 1st hence the similarities in my notes saying a lot like 1st but seems to have a bit more lift.

He was handled to advantage and his leaning was sympathetically corrected. He is a smart standard sized dog. Head of good proportions and I really appreciated his expression which was enhanced by thin, neat, rose ears. He has a strong underjaw and his canines are well angled – no tightness here. He is a compact package and his front and rear angulation marry resulting in sound movement. He is shown in good condition, creating a pleasing outline. A bit more maturity and he will be one to watch.
2 ND Green’s SIKAISTAFF BLACK BARREL AT COCOSTAFF JW Bl Br A bit more all-round than 1st . In absolute shining condition. 1 ST Walbey’s TYNEVIEW RIZZIUS LUSSO Br & Wh I had a double take when I saw him and looked again and thought proper Stafford. He is flashy but as I say markings don’t make a good un. He has bags of breed type. Good head proportions and head super clean, no extra flesh, dark round eye, strong underjaw. His mouth houses big teeth and his canines are well angled. Ears a bit flighty but they may settle with a bit of maturity and skull growth. I don’t think this is the finished package. He has enough substance, width to his front, he has forechest and you have plenty room to get your hands in and feel the depth of brisket. He stands on strong legs with no weakness at the pastern, nails need a wee file but I know how hard white nails can be. As he drives from the rear his back nails need no attention, it’s the little things that are telling. His tail set was good standing but it was up and down like so many others on the move. He held a level topline on the move, moving with nothing out of place, his movement was effortless. His short, close coat was shining. Best Dog and Best Opposite Sex.

1 ST Thomas’ BIGGLESWICK MR TOM (AI) R & W This is a standard sized dog with no exaggeration and the sire to best puppy and best opposite sex puppy on investigation of the catalogue. Excellent pigmentation on this lad, dark nails, eye rims, dark ears and he has a lovely mask. Head of good proportions and clean throughout. He is a compact dog, and shapely behind the collar. He moved with reach and drive and one of the few whose tails was carried low and looked like a pump handle. His coat is short, close and of correct texture. I hope this dog is rewarded as a typey Stafford, good luck with him.
2 ND Page’s ELITEBULL MISCHIEF AT BELLASTAFF JW Bl Br This is a strong dog throughout. This dog has a deeper skull than 1st and has a strong muzzle of adequate length. Good pigmentation on this one. He stood on strong legs, no weakness at the pastern and had the tightest of feet. A shapely body with good depth of brisket, I felt a bit more spring of rib would finish the picture. He has a good bend of stifle and moved out well, another with good tail set.
3 RD Tomkin’s PASGAL REACH OUT AND TOUCH Bl Br This lad was slightly longer caste than 1st and 2nd. Good expression on this one, distinct stop, well developed cheek bumps, dark round eye. He has plenty of substance, cracking tight feet on this one. Shapely body with well-developed hams, coat was shining, shown in lovely condition.
LIMIT DOG (6,2)
1 ST Iles’ DILIRYSTAFF CALYPSO JACK R & W. My notes say all male. This is a lot of dog but the standard says “desirable” and I couldn’t deny him 1st. He has good head proportions, could be a bit cleaner at the muzzle but it’s of good length, he has a cracking underjaw and when you open his mouth – his teeth are massive. Everything about this dog exudes strength and masculinity, he has width to his chest, he stands on strong legs and has that slight turn out at pastern. He has depth of brisket, length to his rib leading to short couplings and a powerful back end. He moved soundly with a well-set tail. Condition on this dog was to be commended he was solid.
2 ND Kirk’s KIRSTAFF THE FIRST AVENGER JW R &W Lovely rich red coat. This dog was handled to advantage. He has head of good proportions, clean muzzle and plenty of underjaw. He has well set ears and a dark, round eye. He has a muscular neck and clean outline. His well boned legs are finished by neat feet. A bit more covering and condition would have finished the picture.
3 RD Stillman’s SIKAISTAFF SHADOW WARRIOR AT MAIDENDALE Bl Br & W standard size dog who presents a neat, tidy package. More depth to head than 2nd, has well developed cheek bumps, strength of muzzle and strong underjaw, his lips are tight enough. He has a strong head with distinct stop and good muzzle length. He has the darkest of eyes and when he smiles you can see the strength in his cheeks and jaw. He has open nostrils. He has strength to his neck and a good width to front. He has visible forechest and plenty of room to get your hands in to assess brisket.
